At the base of the great ruins of Machu Picchu (A place I only recently learned how to spell), in the small but expensive town of Aguas Calientes, I reflect on recent events. The past four days provided some exciting, scenic, and above all exhausting entertainment. We decided it was time to give some purpose to our four month sabbatical and joined a trek following the jungle path formerly used by the Incas. The four day, three night trip consisted of a three hour downhill bike ride to hostel 1, an 8 hour hike to hot springs, a 5 hour hike to aguas calientes, and finally, a tour of the epic Machu Picchu.
